Welcome to the site. The link works. I trust you will enjoy this site and as all of us have, learn much about drumming, life and Music. Good bunch of cats here. Very open and friendly. It's a little quiet right now because most of us are out playing or enjoying the Summer, but it can be a hot bed of discussion and a gold mine of information on Drumming and Music. This is the one site that concentrates on positive things all the time in drumming.

Well, since the video is being discussed. That's a great little band. The vocalist approaches Janis Joplin in chops, the rhythm section is as solid as a rock and it seems to me that the others really have their skills in that genre down well. With the right production and hot management that band has possibilities. The name sits right also.

It's Roger by the way. Mr. Strange was my Grand Father and a fierce old bird he was. Those are not kind words actually. They are more of just what I saw and heard. With work, dedication and lots of energy that band can make it. Just keep it as a closed shop, all about business and Music, don't expect to become millionaire stars and go for longevity. A successful band is one that is a family of siblings of its own. You watch each others' backs, you play at every opportunity in front of people and you record as much as you can. And...you never take your eye off the ball.
I've been through countless bands, in many different countries and different venues. But...always there is one or other of my very original band members in what ever outfit I am in. Usually my bass player. At this point it is one of my original guitar players from decades ago. The reason being that the other three are no longer with us any more. However, the original fire is still in the present band and we are on our way yet again. Never lose sight of whom you came up with. You always make the best music together.

Thanks again Roger...the words you speek i absorbe in my mind with great attitude. I respect you and your kind wisdom .i am the drummer for the shivers, sort of my brainchild a year or so after i moved here from new orleans.i finally met up with my bass player, which whom i've been stickin with for over a year now.Along with ryan,a 21 year-old guitar wizard i must say. We done a 3 piece for a while with great results(it's all in the material you present to an audience as well as quality music,i always say).I did a benifit one night and ran into my lead singer, who i heard for the first time that nite. and hired her on the spot.We been togeather since January,as a 5 piece, rehersing weekly, the chemistry was there,it made us smile to feel that instant energy.and now we bring it to the stage with a new sound, fresh, different, high impact blues....we just wanna play...and let it take us where it may.....

And there is born a really good band. That's how they come together. New Orleans!! Great town to come from. It's where it all began and where it still all comes from despite Katrina. If you hear it now, it was played there at least three years before.
