So I havent been playing that much but Just wondering what your favorite mallet piece is? My personal favorite is The Rhythm Song. It's just so...nice to listen to.

Rhythm Song is fun, especially if you perform it with several other marimbists. (I've even heard versions with drum set or percussion accompaniment - which actually worked pretty well, IMHO).

Mine would have to be Gordon Stout's "Duo (Dance Song)" for trumpet and marimba. I performed it on my senior recital many (many, many) years ago. Very cool piece.

I dont think I would be able to play The Rhythm song quite yet (I've only been playing four mallets for about a month, playing a musser etude for an audition) I dont know how you could put set to that song. I'd like to hear something like that. Ill have to check out that Duo song. I always liked the marimba and flute duets but I could see trumpet too. Cant wait till my (high school) senior recital. It's the only senior recital ever held in the history of my school. Ill prob ask for some help when I get closer to that time.
