Do you have any sound files on the Internet, demonstrating your mallet playing?
I'll get things started by mentioning the "sounds" page on my site:

If you've got a web site w/ sound files, a page at mp3.com or iuma.com (or some other mp3 site), or some other site where we can hear you, please feel free to post it here!

Hi! I really enjoyed your streaming audio mallet jazz. Very nice. I have been learning to play the drums for about a year, but have taken a "break" from practicing for a while. It seems like something is always more important than having fun! I have set aside some time tomorrow to play for a while and see how much I have regressed. My drum set was a gift from my husband. I'm 47 and have always had a fascination for percussion. Guess you are never too old to learn something new! I've been through a series of instructional videos. It's a blast!!! Thanks for helping to remember what fun is! Take care, Prairie

Excellent tunes James, I really enjoyed it (but, of course I hear a drum part in my head to many of them, especially the Atrium verson of "What's Your Point?") And btw, is that also you drumming on the Standards "Plus" version? I'm almost sure that you aren't playing both drums and vibes on "Second Thoughts" and "PM" eh? Give it up for the band and introduce your talented group!
I don't play vibes myself and I don't have MP3s linked on my site, but, I do have quite a few live band tracks stored on my domain that I can link to. Knowing that you are also a steel drummer; would it be okay to link to some of my trap set work work with steel drum bands here?

Thank you for the kind compliments about my music - I'm glad you enjoyed the tracks.
Actually, I've got the personnel listed on individual pages for each of my mp3's:
http://www.malletjazz.com/walker/sounds.html
...scroll down to the mp3 section of the page, and each song title is linked to a page with "liner notes" for that song.
There are a couple of tunes on the "Standards 'Plus'" CD where I overdubbed drums and vibes - it was a CD I put together to raise funds for the pressing of my "Rhyme" CD - but on the tune, "What's Your Point?", Joel Rosenblatt is the drummer. I wish I could play as well as Joel does... Actually, the track with Joel was something I produced for a "CD Masterclass" for Jazz Player Magazine (which I wrote for for a few years before it went belly up last December). The magazine gave me a budget for producing the disc, which is how I could manage to get players of that calibre into the studio.
I was also fortunate to have some wonderful musicians take part on "Rhyme Or Reason" - it was recorded while I was living in Illinois, having just finished my last graduate degree at Northern Illinois University. There are some top Chicago-area musicians there, including Fareed Haque (gtr), Craig Brandt (bs), Liam Teague (steel pan), and two really fine drummers from Chicago, Jeff Stitely and Paul Ross. Paul also plays drums on the "Live, Northern Illinois University" sound files on that page, which are taken from my graduate recital.

Since you're playing drums on the tracks, why not start a similar "Can We Hear You On The 'Net" thread over in the drum set area of this forum? The drum set boards are busier than the mallet board here (I'm working on that, tho! ), so you probably will get more attention over there, and probably will generate a lot of similar postings.
But since you've mentioned the steel pan stuff:
http://www.malletjazz.com/eastshorejazz/sounds.html
...no mp3 files, unfortunately, just .wav and realaudio sound clips. (BTW, the drummer on those clips with drum set, is Mark Mahoney, a drummer/percussionist based here in Connecticut, who also stops by the tigerbill.com boards from time to time.)
Also, I've got some other sound files up on the following pages: http://www.malletjazz.com/vokeswalkerduo/sounds.html - classical voice and marimba http://www.malletjazz.com/mahoneywalkerduo/sounds.html - electronic percussion duo

James - that's really some fine playing. I've been a regular at your steel pages for a few weeks now - I'm very happy to see someone enthusiastically promoting steel.
I believe that my very first steel drum experience was a song called "Carrie Anne" by The Hollies in 1967. I've been hooked on steel ever since - and eventually got to play with some steel bands and meet some of the greats of steel drumming.
My first drum instructor specialized in marimba and mallet instruments - so, I've always had a fondness for all melodic percussion. I'm not really craving attention, so I'll pass on starting the topic. If one appears, I may join in, but I'll reserve my topic starting for book reviews and such.
Joel Rosenblatt sounds fabulous on that track; I'm a big fan of his work with Spyro Gyra! You are fortunate to have great musicians surrounding you, but with talent like yours, that's a given; your talent will attract talent. Keep up the great work, I'm looking forward to more!

Thanks again for the very kind words, Drumbo. I've been very fortunate (blessed!) to meet up with some wonderful musicians over the years, both as teachers and as fellow performers (often, the same people filling both roles - sometimes, just playing music with someone is an education in itself!)
As good as Joel sounds with Spyro Gyra, it doesn't give a complete picture of what he can do as a player. I don't know him that well, but in my dealings with him, he has just been the nicest guy, a real pleasure to deal with. I'm planning things out for my next CD project, and I hope to have enough of a budget to bring players like him in to record, to pay him (and the other musicians) the kind of fee that he (they) so richly deserve.
