Can anyone recommend a good book on this subject? Thanks!

Book? Hmmm...
I don't really use any "jazz vibe voicing" books - the ones I've seen have been a bit disappointing to me.
Frankly, if I may be so bold, I'll humbly direct you to my online lessons pages, including a number devoted to chord voicings and four-mallet techniques:

To be honest, I learned most of my chord voicing concepts by studying big band arranging - especially Ray Wright's "Inside The Score" and Don Sebesky's "The Contemporary Arranger." All the things I learned in arranging for saxophone soli's and shout choruses, applied directly to four-mallet work on vibes.
Mark Levine's jazz theory book is also highly recommended.

If James hadn't already posted this, I would have directed you to his site also. The most concise and complete info on comping you can find, and the price is right, too.
Although, you could buy his CD out of gratitude...
