Dtab (Drum Tab Editor) Update info
      #35165 - Fri May 09 2003 12:52 AM (203.220.166.211)

DTAB - Drum Tab Editor
======================

In case your not familiar, and frankly why would you be [Smile] . Dtab is simple Drum Tab Editor for windows computers. While it's a project still largely in evolution. It's already developing quite a following.

So this information is for those drummers currently using DTAB.

Dtab Update Triplets are COMING
================================

Ever since DTAB included playback, requests for triplet support have been coming in thick and fast. The main problem with adding them, is that to do so requires a complete overhaul of how the program functions internally. Not an easy task, But they are now coming.

I started work on updating DTAB about two weeks ago. The main focus is to bring triplets and improve the playback. Mainly so that it's more efficient and is able of handling not only triplets, but flams / drags / ruffs / doubles also. This should round off the playback engine nicely and really give drummers a good/solid impression of how these things should really sound.

Besides the playback issue for triplets, there comes an even more frustrating issue. That of display them in TAB format. While I've seen various implementations of triplets in various TAB scores, I've decided to take a more notation friendly approach by the addition of triplet ties above any triplet within a bar. This will also allow for Quintuplet and Septuplet support.

My reasoning behind this is make the TAB more friendly to Notation users and vice versa. In case you wonder about notation support, well DTAB is a TAB editor at the moment.

DTAB UPDATE V0.52b (released)
=============================

This release is purely to fix a bug that somehow nobody noticed until now. It corrects the crashing problem with existing version of Dtab 0.52. If you are using Dtab V0.52 you are strongly advised you upgrade..... We apologize for the inconvenience.

Please Note: This version is fix of the older 0.52 version, it is not the new version, so it does NOT include triplets..
