Tigerbill's DVD! Just watched it! Amazing!
      #39574 - Mon Jul 02 2007 10:43 AM (12.39.242.130)

heyyyyyy all,

I just had a lesson with Tiger Bill this past Saturday, and besides learning some amazing new exercises and moving on to the next phase in my development. (just finished Bill's modified Moeller, starting to work on push/pull and combining arm/wrist/and finger motions around the drumset for maximum power and speed)

I picked up Volume 1, and even though some of it was review for me, there were many excellent tips on the GL Stone level system for dynamics and finger control as well.

Besides, it never hurts to review and make sure everything is solid from the ground up, trust me, you'll be glad you put in the time in the beginning.

The approach that Bill uses is the best I've ever seen on an instructional video. Don't be surprised if people start to copy it, if they do, you saw it here first!

You will improve, and you will also benefit immeasurably when you set up your drums to best adapt to this system. I just used it on 2 gigs this past weekend, and noticed some really good improvements in my musical feel and groove.

Buy the DVD! Buy the DVD! Buy the DVD! I'll put a review up in the coming weeks and I can't wait for Volume 2!

Tension = bad, Loose and relaxed = good!

Ha! Fat Chance! I got the email saying it has been sent yesterday, so it will probably arrive next Wednesday now! Patience, patience...
When does the pre-order for the next DVD become available? It's out in another month, isn't it?
Could posting times be taken into account when posting out to international mailboxes, Tiger? Mail from the US takes between 5-7 days to get to NZ...

Well time is ticking down for the pre-release special to run down (today - Happy July 4th!).. so I took the plunge and ordered a copy - it's the least I can do to support this great site.

As I'm playing in a big 70's show band now - if I discover anything that helps my hands and wrists withstand the major workout I get when playing with these guys - then it will be well worth it!

I gete to cover parts by Ronnie Tutt (Elvis drummer from the early 70s) and if you haven't heard him before (check Youtube) he's definitely got 'monster chops'! Course I also get to cover parts by guys like Danny seraphine (Chicago), Bobby Columby (BS&T), Jim Gordon, Hal Blaine, Gary Chester, yadayadayada. After one three hour show, you can hang me on a line to dry!

Hey DomNJOzz - Thanks for the good word! I'm happy that you liked it. Pre-order for Volume 2 will probably be sometime toward the end of July - I will be able to tell you more once I get a firm release date.

I will try my best with the posting time, Alistair!

Ronnie Tutt played some really cool stuff back in the '70s with Elvis and ELvis liked him so much he made him his musical director. Elvis also gave Ronnie a solo at every gig. Unfortunately, I've only heard Ronnie stretch out once with Elvis and I don't think it was ever released on record. It would be cool if Ronnie could get RCA to give him copies of his solo stuffs with Elvis. I met Ronnie in LA in '79 and he's not only a great drummer but a great guy too.

If you get my Tension Free Stuff done, you won't have any problem playing as loud or as fast as you want. Cutting your gig will literally be like a day at the beach! And that's no exaggeration!

Thank you all for purchasing my DVD. I greatly appreciate the support! Initial sales went extremely well, which means that I can now afford to put out more cool stuff!

My copy came in the mail on Thursday, but I was busy so I couldn't start watching it until today.

VERY NICE, BILL! SIMPLE AND TO THE POINT but thorough with the basics. Thanks so much!

Can't wait for Vol 2.

Very well done job.

Watching through it once, you have straightened some things out for me I've had issues with for eons.

Thanks again, Bill.

Cool! I'm happy that you like it. Volume One is really the core of my entire approach, which lays the groundwork for Volume 2: the more advanced stuff. It's similar to building a house. If you start with a solid foundation, you can easily build on it and nothing will ever collapse on you!

It arrived today, and so far I am very impressed. I REALLY like the fact that Bill covers both matched grip and traditional. I can't quite tell from the video which side of the forearm the butt of the right stick should pass (the side nearest the body or the side furthest from the body). I realize that with German grip it would be on the side furthest from the body and with French it would be the side nearest the body, but I keep slamming my wrist/forearm with it and so I need some guidance picking a side.
