I was in 4th or 5th grade and got inspired at a youth church roller skate night. A band played that night and the drummer had an ORANGE sparkle drum kit. I just remember hanging on the rail behind him and watching the drummer all night instead of skating. How about yall?

I was seven and my dad bought me a snare drum(remo pts). This guy that lived upstairs by the name of Donny Marginson was a drummer. He came down one day and just blew off this solo on the snare. From that point on I was hooked.Sadly Donny passed away this past nov. Due to a car accident. So, thank you Donny for inspiring me to become the drummer I am today. You will be missed brother.

The movie Summer Holiday with Cliff Richards and the Shadows. Saw it in our local flea pit around 30 times when I was a kid. From then on music and travel was the only way to go! Started as a bass player but jumped on a kit when I joined my first band who already had a bassist. Never looked back!

I wanted to play since I was 8 years old but my parents didn't want me to play drums. They wanted me to play a "quieter" instrument which I could "lead" with such as piano. When I turned 16 I paid for my first drumset with money I made selling ice cream.

In sixth grade I heard the song "Roundabout" and was sold on playing drums. I learned as many Yes songs as possible as well as Zep, Deep Purple, Kansas and many others at a young age. I eventually got into jazz, fusion, and Latin percussion, but my first love is the classic "art" rock of that era. I haven't put my sticks down since...
