Okay fantasy works for me;
- Sing Sing Sing (Gene Krupa)
- What Is Hip (TOP)
- Make Me Smile (Chicago) * Jump ahead about 1 minute; it takes a while for them to get going.. doh!
- Reelin In The Years (Steely Dan)
- Selling England by the Pound (Genesis)

* I'll 2nd the Robin Ford!

Sunshine of your love - Cream. Just the musicality and power.
Take 5 - Brubeck. The groove and dynamics.
L.A. Woman - The Doors.
Living loving maid - Zeppelin. Great groove. (actually, most of Bonham's stuff I love)
Fire - Hendrix. Love the energy put into the song by Mitch Mitchell.

Speaking of James Brown - "Think" has got to be my favourite song by James. A great quasi-shuffle beat as well!

Timsan, you hit a few nails on the head with me.

Quote:

Late In The Evening (Steve Gadd/Paul Simon)
Chuck E's In Love (Steve Gadd/Rickie Lee Jones) - that sexy little drum break)
50 Ways to Leave Your Lover (Steve Gadd/Paul Simon)
Satellite (Carter Beauford/Dave Matthews Band)
Squib Cakes (Dave Garibaldi/Tower of Power)

Yours?

I'd also add these by the Dave Matthews Band: Crash, Say Goodbye and this version of Seek Up, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tLHso8pcCVE
Also Penny Lane w/ Abe Laboriel Jr playing.
Anything on Chris Botti's Album (Live with Orchestra and Special Guests) w/ Billy Kilson playing.
