Lovely playing, Gus! A full kit would overwhelm that track. "Just enough, and not a drop more."

I've always been a big fan of the brush/stick combo on a snare drum - there's a symphony of sounds in there if one knows where to look.

So Gus. It's time to pull out a soft sounding 4-piece with a chime tree, soft percussion such as cup chimes, brushes, mallets and all that good stuff and loosen back up the hands to fluidity. You are doing yourself a dis-favor in not playing. Plus it seems avoiding a talent given to you at conception. 5 years is long enough for a lay-out.

Its a late 50's WFL Buddy Rich Snare. I took the original snare straner off and replaced it with a DW throw off.
The 3 holes lined up so no drilling required.

I'm surprised you're such a fan of japenese teen techno pop.
