Pearl Free Floating 6.5 x 14 Copper Shell Snare
      #47019 - Sun Aug 22 2010 03:49 PM (99.182.109.214)

Ive been playing one now for a bit over a month and gentlemen, I just love it~! Its got more depth than my Maple shell free floater yet retains a very dynamic "Bark" when played with a power rim shot. Plus, it just looks marvelous~!

Last Monday, I used a Collinite 845 Insulator wax, to not only make it shine but to put a protective barrier on it to prevent dance floor wax from sticking to it. This wax will also prevent cigarette smoke particles (tar and nicotine) from sticking on it as well. Great stuff to use on not only wood shells, but PVC wrapped shells as well as any metal hardware you have on the bandstand. Although I wouldnt recommend putting it on your cymbals, I did do that with mine...the muffling effect of the wax will not be that noticeable to me nor the band members nor the dance crowd. Better that than doing major cymbal cleaning weekly to keep them clean.
That wax is available from a number of outlets...search online for Collinite Insulator Wax.
