Hey Gang -

For those of you who aren't aware of it, I have been producing a free video lesson on the subject of drumming speed (but which also consists of all the important parts a drummer's chops like power, endurance, precision, etc.) for nearly 7 years for the DRUM! MAGAZINE website - a total of 80 lessons to date. But only the latest dozen or so are still available online.

Due to the large number of requests received (both by me and at DRUM!) from drumheads asking how they can access the older lessons, we have decided to re-issue them. This will begin with the first lesson in January of 2011.

The coolest thing about this is that the Internet has advanced in many ways since I produced my first lesson for them in April of 2004. As a matter of fact the first five lessons consisted of text instructions and written music notation along with an audio (MIDI) file.

After the fifth month I offered to replace the audio with video and DRUM! liked the idea so I've been supplying the lessons that way ever since.

But even video has gotten much better since 2004 so, in addition to re-releasing the past lessons exactly as they were, you will now be able to access them in higher resolution video and I'm even adding some extra bonus material that wasn't in the original versions.

And the best thing about it is that these are all free for you to access. So visit the DRUM! Website each month for a cool free chops lesson and spread the word to all of your drumhead friends.

As for me, I'm looking forward to the next 7 years! And 7 just happens to be my lucky number so it doesn't get much better than that... Now all I need to do is figure out how to win the lottery!
