Greetings fellow Drumheads! I trust you all had a terrific Holiday season and are all ready to get back to the drums with renewed energy and perhaps a few fresh chops to try.
I recently bought a second-hand PDP Side Snare (the red one....) and would like to refinish it to match the rest of my set. I have the material I need to make the match, but I'm a bit nervous to start stripping and refinishing.
Does anyone have any experience in this? I think I remember reading somewhere to heat the new covering with a hair dryer before applying it so it snugs up when it cools.
Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

So you are going to be just putting a new wrap on it? Does it have the wrapping on it or is just a finish on the drum?

Hi Cody.
I was originally going to remove the wrap that's on it and replace it with one that matches the rest of my kit, but on further examination I discovered it isn't wrapped, but painted with a high quality paint, like car paint or something like that. I decided to leave it as is, and a personal e-mail from Roger Strange verified this.
Thanks for checking in.

Ahhh yeah that gets tricky. Possible but without taking some serious material off and possibly changing the tone is next to impossible.

Yeah. It's staying red.
