Roughly 3 months ago I purchased a Yamaha Russ Miller Groove Wedge...Its a 19 ply piece of Maple that attaches to the rim of your snare drum. It fits between the tuning lug washer and the rim...there are two brackets that hold it. It sticks up maybe 1/8" to no more than a 1/4" above the rim of your snare. It makes doing cross stick rimshots somewhat easier and gives a nice click. They have several different models...some with jingles and other noise maker inserts. I play a lot of traditional country and some latin patterned stuff that makes this item quite handy.

A lot easier to handle than mounting one of those blue LP blocks to give a pronounced Country flat stick click. I'll have to look into one of those for my own snare. Thanks. The less stuff I have up there on booms and clamps the better for me. I have enough sounds boomed off my rack as it is.
